Annalia?
I know lost of people will mention it's very similar to 'Anal*' but I don't really see it myself, if I'm using the Anna spelling. I love Anna, Dh likes it, but thinks it's a little boring. I don't think Anna-Sofia will stick where we live either. I would love a classic girls names, but I can't come up with anything I really love, or can use. I think Annalia is beautiful, and underused really. What are your honest opinions? Does Isabel & Annalia sound nice as sisters? Thank you. :)

I had a thought since posting yesterday. Maybe it's something you've already considered, but what about Eliana ? It doesn't start with Anna, but I think it's a good alternative. WDYT?

I like it a lot! ANd I think it would go great with Isabel.

I don't care for your spelling at all. Maybe these sould be better and easier to pronounce:
(hyphen or no hyphen on any of these)Anna Lia
Anna Leah
Anna Liya
Anelia (going out on a limb with this one)

Anna Lia would never stick, that's my problem with Anna Sofia. I'd rather go with Anna Sofia then. Thanks. :)

aww... I understand though
What about Annelia?

It reminds me of "anally." Can't support.I like simple Anne, personally.

I would prefer Annalisa. Annalia makes me stumble. I want to say "ah-NAL-ee-ah" not "anna-LEE-ah". Anna Leah would be more direct if you like that pronunciation. What about Amalia?

Sorry, all I see is "anal" or some concept connected to it. I feel like that about most elaborations of Anna with an L in them. More power to you if it doesn't jump out at you, but it does to me.

I really wouldn't use it unless it was hyphenated as Anna-Lia, because anal just shouts out at me otherwise!

I way prefer Annelie but I do understand that it might be too close to 'anally' in an English-speaking country. Annalia is nms. How about Annalena? That I really like :)

I prefer Anna to be honest. Anna feels much more like a classic than Annalia. I'd even prefer Annalise over Annalia. Having said that, I don't think it's bad or anything, just not as appealing to me.

I find Annalie much more respectable than Annalia and a good match for Isabel. I have also seen Annalie as a nn for Anne Elizabeth, which might work for you.If you don't mind retro, what about Barbara? Underused nowadays, and still pretty.

I think it does sound a bit too close to anal for comfort. How about Annelise (nick Annie), Annabel, Anna-Louisa or Lianna? Not keen on Isabel. However I love Isadora!

Thanks for the suggestions, both Annelise and Louisa are nms, they are also taken by family members too. Annabel is not really my style, especially as it's so close to our daughters name Isabel. Isadora is my cousins daughters name. lol:)

Anna isn't boring, IMO. It's elegant, and I think it's not as forgettable as other short, traditional, common names. Annalia is fine, but are you pronouncing it Ah-na-lia or Anna-lia? It's a bit ambiguous. Analia looks more consistent; too bad about the word Anal in it. Isabel and Annalia sound nice as sisters.

In English we prn it 'Anna-lee-ah' and in Spanish 'Ahna-lee-ah'.I don't think Anna is boring btw, Dh does, though he doesn't mind it. It's important to me, that my Dh loves the name as well though, or else the name doesn't feel right.
