Rory
I'm okay with Rory as a boy's name but what about as a girl's name? This website doesn't put it as a girl's name but I think it would be a nickname for a tomboy with the name Victoria. I know someone who is named Victoria and her nickname is Rory. What do you think?

Usually when I think of Rory on a girl I think it is a nn for Aurora or Lorelei (like Gilmore Girls). I suppose it can work for Victoria too which is great news for me because I love Victoria and hate Vicky/Vicki. Tori is okay but Rory is a name I like on girls and boys.

I love Rory as a nickname for Victoria! If I did want to use Rory, Victoria is the full name I would pick. I like Rory as a female nickname. I don't like it as a full name though. I like it as a full name for a boy so I don't know why I think it too nicknamey for a girl. I think it is cute & spunky on a girl.

Seems fine as a girl's name. I've only met one female Rory, who was my math teacher in college.

Victoria nn Rory is a good idea. I've never thought of it. While I much prefer Rory on a boy and think it's very masculine, I kind of like it as a nickname for a girl if she were more tomboyish. I can picture a girl named Victoria not liking that she has such a frilly name!

OTI'm just noticing that you've posted a number of new threads today. The board guidelines ask posters to stick to a max of 5 new threads per day. http://www.behindthename.com/bb/baby/help I know you've only started 4 so far today, but I just thought I'd suggest that maybe you combine some of your thoughts into fewer threads so that other older threads don't get bumped down as quickly. For example, you could easily have asked about January and September in one post. Just sayin...

I don't like it as a boy's name. It seems wimpy to me.
And as a girl's name, it feels so insubstantial. It seems like it would need to be a nickname for something. But I like Tori better for Victoria. And I don't like the name Aurora at all. So I'm stumped.

Dorothy - I like Dot better.
Europa - hm, maybe
Ronette - Roni seems cuter to me
Rosaria - yeah, that could work
Rosemary - and Thyme? Yuck, can't look past how much I dislike the name, sorry.I guess If I had to pick, Rory would be a nickname for Rosaria. :o)
