Suprisingly, Godzilla wasn't the first thing I thought of when I saw this topic. My first thought was the housekeeper from Wuthering Heights. Of the combos you posted, I like:Zillah Muriel
Zillah Diane
Zillah Jane
Zillah Ruth
Zillah Vivian

Uncharacteristically, I really like Zillah. I saw a character in a BBC drama set in rural Victorian England named Zillah and that was that. It has a King James Bible feeling for me. (I'm not sure if the name actually appears in KJB. It's just a feeling I get from it.)People who don't care for my darling Drusilla always use the Godzilla angle to shoot it down. So I'm not going to allow that silly, cheesey, science-fiction creature to ruin yet another name. I simply won't allow it, do you hear me?A mn would be very tricky. It needs something more conventional, yet not too frilly. From your list I most enjoy:Zillah Beatrice
Zillah Bernadette
Zillah Constance (very Puritan)
Zillah Dorothy
Zillah Edith
Zillah Euphemia
Zillah Frances
Zillah Gertrude
Zillah Harriet (zing!)
Zillah Judith (very nice)
Zillah Margaret (you're on a roll)
Zillah Miriam (what did they put in your breakfast this morning? You keep topping yourself.)
Zillah Muriel
Zillah Patience (Either I'm just getting more into Zillah, or you're getting better at these mns)
Zillah Prudence (see?)
Zillah Rosemary (very sweet and country fresh)
Zillah Ruth (KJB-a-go-go):-D

I like the fact that there is a shipwreck in Lake Superior with that name. I must add this to my namelist.

I think it's cool; it's been on and off my list a few times.A novel I read had a male Zillah as a main character (the same book as New_Chloe mentioned, Poppy Z. Brite is my favorite author), so it interests me on both genders.--
Zillah Delphine
Zillah Frances
Zillah Hermione
Zillah Juliet
Zillah Mabel
Zillah Marguerite
Zillah Maud
Zillah Maude
Zillah Maxine
Zillah Rosemary
Zillah Verity
Zillah Vivienne

Zillah Edith
Zillah Eugenia
Zillah Georgina
Zillah Jeanine / Jeannine
Zillah Juliet
Zillah Margaret
Zillah Marguerite
Zillah Marigold
Zillah Miriam

Oooh. Ze lovely Zella. I agree. I get a more sophisticated feeling from Zella than I do from country sunshine Zillah. But yeah, both great names.

I think it might be the opposite for me. Zillah feels more sophiticated than Zella. That might be partly because my great-grandma's name was Zella and she was a country person. Also I just realized Zillah makes me think of Zildjian, the cymbal maker, so it's gold and musical. Ooh, that makes me like it more!

Definitely a female name, and just silly as a male one... sorry, but that's my opinion, and it annoys me that anyone'd consider it male. I find it pretty enough, but definitely waaaaay too close to Godzilla. That said, if I could get over that connotation, I'm sure the name is lovely, and there are some nice middle names you've got there which I love and would make some super combos. I'm afraid I can't be much help... the Zillah/Godzilla thing is just one of those things where, once you've seen it, you can't unsee it...

I like Zillah, it is lyrical and strange. I first encountered it as a male name in a Poppy Z. Brite book about vampires, but it flips easily to a female name for me. I actually rather enjoy the subtle "Godzilla" connection. I think that gives it a quirky, electro-pop-culture edge. I'm actually quite taken with the idea of Zillah and Ray as a brother-sister duo. Zillah is tricky to combo, I agree! I quite like these options:
Zillah Diane
Zillah Frances
Zillah Jean
Zillah Margaret
Zillah Marianne
Zillah Maxine
Zillah Ruby
Zillah Violet
