Ida, Rupert, and Ralph (ed.)
I'd like some opinions on Ida, Rupert, and Ralph. I've been thinking about them today.

Ralph is a nice name. Ida is okay, but it's not really my style.I don't like Rupert. It's been ruined for me by Rupert Murdoch.

wooooThat is a GREAT set. They belong together! Quirkily retro and pleasingly unassuming names. Well, Rupert is a little smarmy, but it still works. Loooove Ida and Ralph together!

Ida - It's kind of cute, but doesn't really do much for me.
Rupert - I didn't used to like this much. Possibly because it seemed silly since when we were kids we called my cousin Robert this. But lately I've been appreciating it much more. It does have a silliness about it, but that makes it endearing. Otherwise it seems rather stately.
Ralph - How are you pronouncing this? I don't like it said RALF, but I love RAYF. It's very suave.

The only one I like is Ida. The others are NMS.

Ida - I do find this a bit out of date. I prefer Ada. Also it might work better as a nickname, but I don't know what for!Rupert - this is nice but the Rupert the Bear thing ruins it a little bit for me.Ralph - I just think of Ralph Wiggum!

Ida is lovely, very sweet and charming.
Rupert is like a teddy bear. It's so cuddly.
Ralph is the only one I dislike. For whatever reason, I just have never found the appeal.

Ida sweet as apple cider... I've always loved Ida. Rupert is awesome and I started liking Ralph a lot a few years ago. (Not pronounced /rafe/, like raLLLLph. )

OMG - I absolutely love these! Actually Ida, Rupert and Ralph would make such a great sib-set, they really go well together. They're all old-fashioned gems. However, I only like Ralph pron. RAYF.

I love all three names! Rupert was once my absolute favorite male name, though others have claimed that title over the years; Ida is pert and stout and strongly feminine; and Ralph is so unaffected, unassuming, unpretentious that I want to pinch his cheeks and/or give him a bear hug.

I really like both of them. Ida seems so sunny and cheerful and Rupert is handsome and friendly. Although I could be biased there, as it's my brother's name.:)
