Mefin
I had a dream with Mefin (prn. MEV-in) in it. It's a name I've liked for a long time, and go in spurts of liking it more and less. I thought it was odd for it to appear in my dream randomly. So Mefin is a Welsh female name that I guess you could call a contraction of Mehefin, meaning "June" (or more literally meaning midsummer). I'm not sure if it's actually used as a name, but I saw it listed somewhere once and thought it was adorable and sunny. And I love just Mef as a nn.I don't really have any good combos though. How about...?
Mefin Abigail
Mefin Amanda
Mefin Edith
Mefin Frances
Mefin Gillian / Jillian
Mefin Harriet
Mefin Hermione
Mefin Kathleen
Mefin Marjorie
Mefin Nora / Nola
Mefin Thomasina
Mefin WinnifredNone really jump out to me a lot. Mefin Amanda and Mefin Harriet I think are my favorites.

Hadn't seen it before so I had to look it up, and sorry! I think it's a boy's name. I thought it might be, because it reminds me of Hefin - and Kevin. There's a rugby player called Mefin Davies, and I found two in the births since 1984, both boys. It's so unusual though that you could probably make it unisex, if you wanted to.

InterestingI'm not sure where I originally saw it. On Namenerds it's listed as feminine, but I don't think that's where I found it. But yeah, it definitely could go either way. Interesting to hear it seems to be mostly used for boys. It's all hypothetical anyway, so doesn't really bother me.

MEV-in sounds handsome, I just don't like the spelling. Would Mevin work? Or Mevon? They look kind of weird, too. I guess it sounds better than it looks. Oh I thought you made it up in your dream. I guess if Mefin is the original you should stick with it. I first thought it was masculine, it made me think of Devon and Kevin. The meaning is nice.Mefin Amanda is great. I think Amanda is a nice classic. I also like Edith, Gillian, Hermione, Nora and Frances is growing on me.I only had two name dreams and the names of my daughters were Alizée (Alizee) and Cambrey. And then I had a completely weird one in which I named my daughter Shooting Star and the son Rainbow Rider or something like that. Odd.

I agree it does seem like it could be a masculine name. Hefin is a masculine name derived from the same work (Mehefin), and I really like it. The f isn't weird to me since I've been into Welsh names for years so I'm used to it. :)It's so strange the name stuff your brain comes up with in dreams. Stuff you don't even actually like or that is totally weird. On the other hand, there are the rare occasions your brain comes up with something awesome you never would've otherwise thought of. But usually for me I wake up and don't remember the names anyway.
