Definitely does sound like a name to me. Also, it's not a great thing to be really, so it's not a great meaning. What if Timid turns out to be really loud and outgoing?

This would be either terrible or terribly oxymoronic.I can't really see it as a real name for a person. Do you intend it as male or female? It seems rather cruel either way.However, it might work on a cat. "Tim" for short.
