Alana
It's been swirling around my head for the past few days, WDYT of Alana?

I find it quite pretty, personally... and far from overused in any generation... thus, easy to give to a baby w/out a stigma to it.

I like it though I like Alaina a little better because I like the nickname Laine.

I like it. I had it on my list with my third child, but I have a feeling I wouldn't have actually used it because I don't *love* it. ( I had a boy anyway). I don't like it as much as Elena and I came across a slightly different version in a baby name book, it was Elana- which I also liked better.

I like Elana too. Have you ever read "Enchantress from the Stars"?

No I haven't. Is there a character by that name?

Yep. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enchantress_from_the_Stars It sounds a bit lame, but I got my friend's mom to read it and she almost cried at the end :P

I love Alana! I first read it in a Tamora Pierce book (although that may have been Alanna), and I've liked it ever since. I think Alana is better than Alanna. Also, just looking at the subject line and your name made me realize that Alana Fleur is actually a pretty nice combo...
