Elle
I thought it was weird at first because I speak French and it's a French word but it has grown on me a lot. What do you think of Elle?I pronounce it ELL, does anyone say EL-ee? Just wondering. Do you think it makes a good name? I don't like Ellen much or any other version. Too common?

I love the Elle, but there are too many Elle/Ella type names on family members, so that would put me off using it. I pronounce it ELL too, that's the only way to say it imo.

I like the name Elle on it's own :) it's simple and elegant at the same time. I pronounce it 'ELL' I don't really like Ellen either :P if it was gonna be short for something, i'd probably make it short for Eleanor/Elinor :)

I'd say ELL. I suppose people who speak German might say ELL-uh.I don't mind Elle, but I think it's a bit too short to be a full name. It could make a good nickname for Danielle or something like that.

I find it silly, just like Dee, Jay, Kay, Em, Jay-Pee ... I suppose it could be OK as a nn for an El- name like Elinor etc, but then I'd expect to see El rather than Elle! Like you, I trip over the pronoun link.

I have a character named Ellie, short for Eleanora, who's friend, Thea, calles her Elle from time to time!
