Aspen
I'm finding myself attracted to Aspen lately, even though it's usually not my style at all. WDYT of Aspen? How would you picture Aspen's parents? Middle name suggestions? Sibling suggestions?

I like Aspen.I'd picture Aspen's parents as slightly trendy but a lot more laid-back. It's not unusual enough to be a hippy name, but it's not really a popular name either.

I predict that Aspen will get fairly popular. I dunno why I think that. I'm probably wrong. Anyway it seems marginally trendy to me.What I don't like is the AS / ASP sound. Other than that it's nice. I'd expect siblings to be along the lines of Autumn, Bryce, Presley, Dakota, Sienna, Hudson, Cole.

nn Penny? The first syllable kind of worries me. I do like the second....For this reason, I'd probably go with Cedar instead, or even Thuja. Parents are either aging yuppies or back-to-the-farm types not drawn to literature. For a middle name, something the girl could use later in life should she prefer a change, maybe something like Juliet or Paloma. For a male sibling, what about Geyser? (joking). For a female sibling, maybe Copper or Harper.

Well, I adore Aspen. I love the nature aspect and the Colorado visual. BUT...I started thinking hard about the name and since I love to nickname everyone by shortening their name, Aspen doesn't totally work for me. Obviously you can't shorten it to AS (ass!) and Asp sounds so awkward. So that's the only problem I have with the name.If you know you'll never want to shorten it affectionately I think it's a beautiful name. I picture upper middle class parents that might be into skiing or something with a child (hopefully daughter!) named Aspen. Aspen Elizabeth
Aspen Renee
Aspen Charlotte
Aspen Isabel
Aspen Olivia
Aspen Fiona
Aspen NicoleSiblings could be all over the board I would think.

I love it, it's number one on my list for a girl at the moment. It reminds me of snow and gives me that nice crystal blue and white image. It makes me think of winter. My guess is that Aspen's parents would be yuppies :P An Aspen would have very fair skin and either green or blue eyes. Her hair would be red. It's a bit trendy and sometimes I'm worried about the As-sound at the beginning. I mean I pronounce it more like AZP-en than ASS-pen (As as in "as" not as in "ass") but other people might pronounce it that way.My favorite is Aspen Noelle but you must leave that one for me please ;) I also like Aspen Lee.

Aspen has come up a lot on the boards lately. I'm not usually a fan of place/surname/nature names and I think this is all three, but I actually do like Aspen. I think it has a nice soft S sound, like in Esther and Iris, so is quite feminine without being too frilly. I don't usually associated names and colours, but Aspen brings to mind a kind of light gold/fawn sort of colour. I also think Aspen trees are very pretty.Hazel is a similar name and I get similar feelings from it. Aspen and Hazel would go well together, except they're both trees so might be a bit matchy.I don't really know how I'd picture her parents, but in my head Aspen is a tallish, willowy girl with long light brown hair.MN suggestions:
Aspen Rosalie
Aspen Catherine
Aspen Philippa
Aspen Wilhelmina
Aspen Rachel
Aspen Lilith

I think I'm the only one who posts about it all of the time :P But most people I've asked didn't like it.
