Whitney isn't as popular as it used to be, and it would be refreshing as a masculine name these days, but it's still much more popular for girls, so I think it would be better suited as a middle name. Are you open to a double first name (Sean Whitney, John Whitney, James Whitney, Luke Whitney, etc.)? Something distinctly masculine in the front would help.I really like Whit on its own for a boy.
