Max on a girl
So I've always loved the name Max for a boy, and really like Maxwell or Maximus, but I also think it would be cute for a girl. However I'm really not a fan of the name Maxine, just can't stand the sound of it. So I was looking for other alternatives.
I found the name Maxandria on another site...basically a combination of Max and Alexandria. What do you think of it? I kinda like it. That got me thinking of other combos that might work so what do you think of these:
Maxandria
Maxandra
Maxanna
Maxamelia
Maximilia
Maxwella I know Max + Amelia is a little silly but it's close enough to a feminine Maximilian that I thought I'd throw it in. What do you think? Could any of these catch on as a common girl's name for Max?

Honestly, I still think of Max as a dog's name first, and then a boy's. It could work on a little girl and be rather sweet, but like any boyish name, it might not transfer well into womanhood.Maxie sounds less stark and more gender-neutral. I really don't think any of those longer names you have created are feasible. They'd be a vehicle for calling a girl Max, but what if she wanted to use the longer name? Would you be happy to address her as Maxamelia? I do think Max could work as the second part of a hyphenated name, like Anna-Max. I have met an Emma-Jack. And I'm predisposed to liking double first names :)

I love Max for a girl. Makes me think of a little girl in a pink shirt, a denim skirt and cowboy boots on the playground playing kickball with the boys. I like
Maxandra
Maxanna
Maxanne
MaxelleI don't think that any of them will every really become overly popular, even if they do catch on.

The only one I like from you list is Maximilia. I actually like it a lot. It's very appealing. I can definitely see it on a little girl and I think it would age well.
Maxamelia looks awkward. I think I prefer Maxemilia to Maxamelia.

There is a feminine form of Maximilian, it's Maximiliana, and it would be my favorite of any female Max names. Not that I like Max on a girl, Maxie is OK on a girl though.

I like Max and Maxwell on a boy too. I love Maxine, I think it's adorable. I dislike Maxandria. I also think the others are pretty awful, sorry. How about Maximilienne? Maximiliane? Maxima? Maxime? Maxine is my favorite, though.

How about Maxima, Maxina or Maximilienne?

How about Maxie - simpler and cute!
Otherwise Maxine is the only acceptable full name in my mind. Just Wondering if max could be used at end instead but can't think of how: something like Lou-max but that isn't quite right.

Celebrity BALindsey Sloane (who actually played a character named Maxeen on "Weeds") just named her daughter Maxwell Lue. I don't endorse the use of Maxwell on a girl but I thought it was interesting and worthy of mention here.

Perhaps...I really like Max on a girl. I used to make people call me that when I was in 2nd grade, lol. I actually like Maxamelia. A lot. The other ones aren't horrible.

Yes to Max!Very much yes! I love boy nicknames on girls. Hmm, of the ones you suggested, I think Maxwella is a little cute actually. Maxamelia looks a little silly, but I don't mind Maximilia as much. Maximilienne is on the site here, and I think that one's pretty nice.I certainly endorse the continued search for a girl name for Max!

too close to Maxandre for meMaxandre and Maxendre are boys names in French so it seems very masculine to me.

I love Max but I also love Maxine.Maximilia / Maxamelia is nice. Maximilienne (as Chloe suggested) is even better I think. I could also work for "Mac" name - Michaela, MaKenna, etc - though I'm not sure those sort of names would appeal to you either

The only 1 of these even remotely appealing is Maxwella... Aside from that, they all sound pretty contrived.

Maxella might work better thoughI think I could maybe see Maxella working though... It flows better and feels more natural.

I think Maxine is cool though.I'm having a hard time getting behind any of the names you posted though. They just aren't appealing to me. Maxamelia is probably my favorite.Have you thought of:Maximilienne
Maximiliana
Maxima
Maxime (probably too similar to Maxine)
Maxina?
Maxentia (fem. of Maxentius)
Maxamina (fem. of Maximino)
Maxamine (french form of Maxamina)
Every once in a while I get into Maximilienne, but honestly Maxine is my favorite Max name for a girl.

Maxamelia is genius
I like Max on a girl too, and Maxine isn't one of my faves either. Maximilienne is a real name I'm pretty sure!

I don't like the idea at all; Max is through and through a male name to me. However, if I had to choose, I'd pick Maximilia. It sounds the most natural to my ears and looks the best to my eyes.
