I actually love Eglantine. As a middle name. Though I'd be pretty excited if I met an Eglantine. But yeah, I was playing with it as a middle name a while ago. I really like it.

Call me crazy, but I think Eggie is sort of cute. Like Aggie, but weirder. Anyhoo, yep, eggs and eggplant are what I immediately thought of when I saw Eglantine. I'll have to pass on this one. I don't like the sound of it, anyway. I'm probably not going to like any name that starts with Eg-, but I find the Egl- in Eglantine particularly thick and heavy on the tongue.

I actually really love the name Eglantine. It reminds me of one of the main streets where I used to live. To me, it really depends... If your area is full of Kaydyns and Maddysyns, then I'd reserve Eglantine for the MN position. If your area has more Henrys and Audreys, I'd go for it.

I think it'd be an awesome middle name (but I tend to get this feeling off a lot of -ine names, they work better in the middle for me).

It's neat, I like it.

I think Eggie would be cute, and necessary because the name is very paper-y. So long and heavy. I'm not against long deliberate names - I think they're neat, although not my usual style. But if nicknames were not allowed, I would not think they were too great.

It does remind me of eggs Florentine, but I don't think that wrecks it. I don't personally care for the sounds in Eglantine but I don't think it's bad in any way.

I love Eglantine because of the whole egg thing. It's the same reason I love Egbert as well. :) And I think Eggie is a cute nickname. I'm probably in the minority on this though. Haha.

It does have an Eggplant feel to it, but I think it's charming in it's own way. Can't really see it as a first name though, maybe as quirky middle name or a pet name.

It reminds me of Angela Lansbury's character in the Disney film "Bedknobs and Broomsticks", as that is where I first heard the name. I must say the name sounds pretentious to me, and it is a mouthful to boot. I would probably recommend for it to be used as a middle name.

I didn't really think of the egg thing, I just thought "Wow, what a pretentious sounding name." It's very cold and aloof to me.

I like it, but I'm not sure it's very usable. Reminds me of the Eglantine rose.

I'm an Eglantine fan! It is pretty OTT, but I consider that one of her charms. I suppose she could be called Eggie, but I actually find that cute; like Aggie. I suppose you could also use Tine or Tina too.
