Zandy
What do you think about the nickname "Zandy" for Alexandra? My husband and I were discussing names for our third daughter and want a name with a cute nickname. We like the name Alexandra but could only think of Allie or Lexi for nicknames and don't really like those. My husband thought about it for a while and suggested Zandy.
I kind of like it but I'm not sure it fits in well with our other two daughters' nicknames.
Their names are Camille and Sylvia and we call them "Milly" and "Livy".

Ok, so I think I really love it now. It just sounds so fun and adorable. I like Zan also and if we go with Zandy she might be called Zan sometimes anyway.I think Andie is sweet. If she seems more like an Andie we might use that one.Exie, I just don't think I can get on board with. I'd rather go with Lexi. Her name will be Alexandra Naomi.

Oh! I like Zandy. It's fun. And I like how it follows the offbeat nickname tradition you have going.you could also use Exie maybe?

I know a Zandi. Short for Elizabeth. Atrocious person, though...

I think it works well as a nickname for Alexandra. It sounds sweet and spunky.Camille, Sylvia, and Alexandra work together as do Milly, Livy, and Zandy.

I don't care for Zandy at all, but it works well enough as a nickname for Alexandra, especially given the popularity of Xander/Zander for boys. I do think it feels more modern and invented and thus out of step with Milly and Livy, but how much does that really matter with nicknames?

Not really fond of Zandy, but it's better than Allie or Lexi. Sandy would be ok... or Sandra... or just Lex or Lexa. Do they ALL have to have Y nns?

It's not bad; however, it is awful close to Sandy, which I don't particularly care for.In the play "The Little Foxes" the is a character named Alexandra who is called Zan for short. Zan would definitely be my favorite short form: simple and sweet, but spunky and modern at the same time. Another option is Zanna, which has a nice ring to it.Now that I think about it, Zan & Zanna have me liking Alexandra a lot more . . . almost enough to make an appearance on my own list!

I think it could be cute. I would probably not plan on a nickname - I'd go with Alex, Sandy, or Zandy depending on what seemed to suit her when she's old enough to be addressed frequently.

*Full disclosure: My name is Andie.

Reminds me of Zandria, a nickname used for Alexandria, and I like the sound and spelling a lot for both names!

It seems like it's sort of forced, but it could work. What about Exie (probably sounds just as forced, but doesn't remind me of Candy)?
