Ada
I forgot how much I love the name Ada. Opinions? Too close to other common names such as Ava, Adelyn, Adelaide etc?Do you think it will get more popular in the future? Top 100?

I want to love Ada since I really like the way it looks written down. Unfortunately, I hear "ate a ..." I could see it having a little more popularity, however, I don't foresee it becoming a new Ava.

Adore it! Such a lovely, simple, intelligent-sounding name. It moves in and out of my top 10 all the time. 10 years ago, I wouldn't have predicted Ada would be a top 500 name today. It won't surprise me at all if it reaches the top 100 in the future. It has a lot of things going for it: it's a worthy successor for Ava; it has that "old lady" vibe many of us love so much; it's part of the Adel- family, which seems to be getting more popular as a whole; you could conceivably use Addy as a nickname. Even the fact that it starts with A could give it a boost, I guess. Something like 20% of the girls' top 100 starts with A.

I LOVE Ada. It was my great-grandma's name (though she went by Ruth...why, I don't know). I don't think it's too close to other names. It's short, snappy, and timeless. I think it could become more popular, but not popular to the point Ava has.

I think it's pretty. I don't know if it will enter the top 100 or not, but it might become more popular as an alternative to Ava. It has been rising steadily since 2004.

I like it. I like it much more than Adelaide, Adeline, Ava, Adelyn or any such names. I don't think it's really all that close to any of them. Maybe to Ava, although it "feels" more in the style of Adelaide.I don't think it'll crack the top 100.

Love it.Have for years.I don't think it will ever hit the top 100 but it is pretty close to common names. That doesn't really bug me, though - most of the names I like are either popular, are getting more popular or have a popular sound.

Ada is all sweetness to me. In my opinion, though related to Adelaide, Ada is not too close in feel and is miles away, again in feel, from Ava and Adelyn.

Love it so much. One of my favourite names. I don't think it will get to top 100.
