Taylor
I really like this on a boy. I think it's fine on a girl, but I much prefer it on a boy. What do you think? Is it too common? It was in the top 100 for both genders, but in the top 10 for girls. It has fallen quickly for girls, though.Do you think it's too girly? To me it is one of the few names that work well on both genders, but I'm curious what other people would think. Is it too 90s dated? How many have you met?How do you imagine a boy Taylor and a girl Taylor?

I'm neutral toward Taylor on a girl, but I really like Taylor on a boy. I do unfortunately think it sounds very 90s and sort of dated, so that would probably be why I personally wouldn't use it. I think it's a solidly unisex name in the same vein as Jordan.

I don't love it but I don't not like it. I do know way too many girls but only one boy. I find it refreshing on a boy. To me also it is one of the few names I can see on both genders (basically Taylor, Riley, and Jordan). I've don't think of it being too 90s or dated I think it has just recently fallen enough that it is still good to use but won't be overused.

I dislike it for a girl and think it's okay for a boy. I definitely think it's too common for me to ever consider (plus I just don't like it enough.) I don't think it's too girly; I think of it as unisex. It is a little dated, though. I've met 2, one girl and one boy. For a girl, I guess I picture a blond, pretty, but maybe somewhat empty teenager. For a boy, I basically just picture one of the boys who used to bully me in middle school, because his name was Taylor and the association is so strong.

It's okay, but it's mediocre in a way that turns me off. It screams mediocrity. I felt the same way about trendy names like Brittany and Amber when they were still being used frequently but were very much on their way out of style. Now, though, I'm okay with them... so maybe in about 10 years, I'll be more okay with Taylor. But I wouldn't want to be a baby named Taylor right now.I think it's more suitable to a boy, because it's a surname name, and its lack of personal-ness and its literal "tailor" meaning are undignified. Boys can carry the indignity (rough casual style) of surname first names better than girls IMO. On girls, surnamey surnames always seem more diminishing to me than they do on boys. Probably because men traditionally get called by their surnames in certain male-stereotypical contexts.I've run across a couple of girl Taylors, but only heard of boy Taylors.

I prefer it for a girl, but it's nice on a boy, it's definitely not too girly. I don't think it's as dated feeling on a boy as on a girl though. I've met several Taylors, I think 3 boys, and 5 girls, through school and camps when I was growing up.A girl Taylor is pretty and feminine, she's into dance, and is very smart. She may have a bit of a baby face, but she's mature even in her teens.A boy Taylor is a little quiet and a little silly. He's very social, but not the most popular guy around. He underestimates himself, but he still tends to achieve.

I really love Taylor on both genders, but prefer it on a boy, too! I think of it as a 90s name (especially for a boy), but I think it is still useable. But...it is a little trashy... unfortunately. :(

I also prefer it for a boy. However, I think it has become too popular for girls and people might assume it was a girl, not a boy. I don't find it girly at all, but I am quite conservative when it comes to unisex names! I've met one Taylor, a girl, who is 19.

I think it's too common for girls still, but I don't encounter many male Taylors. It ranked #337 for boys in the U.S. in 2011, which doesn't strike me as overly popular. At #44 for girls, I think it's still too popular.I only recall meeting one male Taylor around my age. I know of a Taylor who is in his teens and one little girl named Taylor who is probably somewhere between 8 and 10 years old now. I encounter a lot of little girls and teenage girls named Taylor.I imagine a female Taylor to be blonde and into trendy things, but I don't have a set image in mind for either gender really. I think of blond hair first when I think of a male Taylor, but I can easily imagine a male Taylor with brown hair, too.

Nah, I prefer it on a girl. I think it sounds like it's missing something on a boy, but on a girl, it feels complete. I'm not sure why that is.It's pretty common, yeah. In my age group, at least. There were a lot of guys named Taylor; I think it started being used for girls more around the early 90's, but I could be wrong.
