Drew
What do you think of the name Drew? I know some use it as a girls name but I would use it for a boy.

I think Drew is quite handsome on a boy and that it stands quite well on it's own as a full name. :)

I like it - on a boy, that is. I have thought of it as a middle name.

I wanted to use it for our son but my husband didn't want to (he rejected about 10 of my favorite names along with it). Probably because of a man named Drew that we used to know, who was sort of damaged. We almost agreed on Andrew but my husband wouldn't have called him Drew, he would've called him Andy ... I said that wasn't good enough. Anyway, it didn't sound good with our last name.I've run across little kid Drews and I think it's a good name. It's not as fashionable as it was in the 90s but I don't think it's dated nor will be dated.

I understand why Drew Barrymore's parents chose the name. It's a family surname for them. But for anyone else (outside the family) I don't get why they would want to use a past tense verb. It's OK as a nn for Andrew, but not to stand on its own.I do, however, love the idea of Dru as a nn for Drusilla. That's fabulous in my books.

I like it for a girl, hate it for a boy. Don't know why.

I think it's fine, but only as a nickname for Andrew. I have no problem with Andrew, but I dislike the nickname Andy, so I'd use Drew as a nickname. My ex-son-in-law is named Andrew, but he was adamant that nobody was to call him Andy, so many people called him Drew. It's handsome, but I wouldn't use it on its own.
