Love it on a boy, but it's very boring and safe on a girl.

I like Meredith. I like that she's very no-frills, a smart, independent, go-getter woman. And Meri or Edi as nicknames are both very nice.

When I was in high school there were two best friends named Meredith and Maida. Both were tall and elegant....Of the two names, I actually prefer Maida. There's an 8-year-old boy the next town over named Meredith. No idea how being named this plays out in his life, though I thought I'd read that for a boy, the Scottish pronunciation would be Muh-red'-ith.

I don't mind Meredith on someone else's child. For me, it's not ideal. I'm not wild about names ending in 'ith' anyway (Edith, Judith, Lilith). In addition, when I hear Meredith, I think 'merry death.' It's probably just me, but it's definitely a negative association.

Frumpy, old fashioned and not ready for revival imo! Sorry!

I love it!

It's a nice name, I like the "ith" ending. I'm not particularly drawn to it, but I'd be pleased to meet a young bearer.

It exudes strength and warmth. I like it for both genders.

I think Meredith is the only name that I like equally for either gender, and I love it. On a girl I think it feels cool and intelligent, and for a boy I think it's very charming.

This name has long been a favorite of mine. I just like the sound of it, and the soft, calming feel.I've heard people say it's unisex, but I don't know- it's all girl to me, even if it has been used for boys. It's VERY feminine.

Meredith BurgessMeredith Burgess was a famous, successful actor who was nominated for two Academy Awards so it's definitely been used by recognizable men but I agree it sounds feminine.
