I do like Oscar but not so much Oz, it's too much 'Wizard of Oz' or Frank Oz of the Muppets, but I guess it wouldn't be too bad occasionaly as a nn for Oscar.

I think Oz is too weird. Neil with the nn Neely is ok.

I like Neely much better for a girl--especially as a nickname for Cornelia--because I knew an amazing one. Neil is fine, but not something I'd use.
