Josabeth (ETA)
An odd girls name that pops up in my head now and then. I had to look up if it was real or something I made up somehow - turns out there was a Swedish 19th century artist called Josabeth Sjöberg, born in 1812. Her full name was Josabeth Fredrica Carolina. That must have been where I got it, and I suppose her parents might have gotten it from mixing Johanna (her mother's name) and Elisabeth? Anyhow, I think it's rather cute. What do you think? :)ETA: My sister thinks it might be the same thing as Josabeat, the form of Jehoshabeath (user submitted) used in the Swedish Bible. Certainly possible.

Jacobeth sometimes surfaces in South Africa as a mixture of Jacoba and Elizabeth. It's pronounced with the first syllable emphasised, usually. And the J is a Y!

I have a friend whose middle name is Josabeth; she took if from Josabeth Sjöberg (she originally had another middle name)! My friend thought it was a mix of Josefine and Elisabeth, but I think it's from the Bible.
BTW, I once made up the name Jonnabeth from Johanna and Elisabeth!

I like it. It looks like a mash name, but it's not overly weird and Beth tends to blend pretty well. It makes me think of Josie Beth as a double name, but strikes a bit more of a mature angle.

I'm pretty sure I've heard Josabeth before, but I've never heard of that artist.
I quite like Josabeth. I like Josephine, Annabeth, Elisabeth so Josabeth seems like a nice variation.

You might have read a children's book called "När lilla Josabet gick vilse på julafton"? (Or encountered one of the 42 Josabeth/Josabet there are in Sweden, of course.)
