Need the opinions of the Irish here...
(first: I promise this is my last post for today lol)I have a character in a story I'm writing who is Irish. She's a teenage female (18 - story takes place in 2004 so she was born 1986) and her name is currently Rony and she is supposed to have been from a low-income family and had personal troubles when she was younger. As an Irishman/woman, what is your take on this name? Is it acceptable for a girl? And what are your impressions of this name (like, what personality do you associate it with)? Also, what are considered "trashy" names in Ireland?
Thanks loads, in advance :-)

Well I will try and help. I have never heard of the name Rony, sorry but I don't really like it. I suppose it could work as a nickname although I am not sure for which name. I think Romy sounds better. I am not sure what you exactly mean by 'trashy', and if you are implying Rony or another character. I can't think of any name that would be considered 'trashy' primarily in Ireland. Perhaps if you would suggest names that you consider trashy so I get a better idea. If you are wanting to use actual Irish names I would suggest
CIARA (This is very common, especially for this age group)
CLODAGH (I don't know why but this just suggests a low class, common, troublesome girl to me although, I don't know anyone called Clodagh)
SAOIRSE (From a personal experience, I would associate this name as 'trashy', but that is just me)
RÍONACH / RÍONA (just because it is close to Rony)
