It's kind of bad that I like some of those spellings, isn't it? :DSo judging by all of the spelling variants, Violet was a big hit in 1930s/40s Sweden? How come?

I can't help but admire the parents who thought of the fantastic Vaeijlert.It would have been in the top 200 somewhere, I think (that would be a top list including both first and middle names because I can't separate them). I don't know why ... Sounds like it would have come from some American movie star or the like, but I don't know of any?I like to think that the oddly spelled Violets (born 60-80 years ago) named their daughters odd spellings of Madeleine (which was given many interesting spellings 20-50 years ago), and that the oddly spelled Madeleines now name their daughters odd spellings of Hailey (the current name-of-many-spellings).
