Suvi
I've fallen for this one over the past few days. What are your opinions of Suvi, how do you pronounce it, and do you think it would be weird for an American with no Finnish heritage to use it?

Soo-veeWe considered it briefly for our DD. I'm not over keen on the sound of it, especially with our S sounding surname, but like the meaning. I don't think it's that weird to use in America, but you'd probably spend a lot of time correcting people who think you're saying Susie.

No more weird than plenty of other names! Probably inconvenient, though - I can imagine most people assuming it was Susie and having to be corrected. It also makes me think of a nn for an SUV.

I love Suvi! I pronounce it like sue-vee. I don't think it would be weird at all to use as an American because its not that out there. You've got Suzie and Suri that are similar, so I think it will be unique but not out of place. I also love that it means summer

I would say Soo-vee, and yes, frankly, it does seem weird on an American. In fact, soovy is what my husband has always called SUV's, or sport-utility vehicles. He says he picked up the name from somebody else.
