Marlies
I'm intrigued by the name Marlies, but I'm not sure how to pronounce it. It's German/Dutch, according to this site. Would it be pronounced mar-LEASE, mar-LEEZ, or MAR-lease, MAR-leez?Any thoughts? And do you prefer Marliese? I assume that one is pronounced mar-LEASE-uh.

I like it and would pronounce it Mar-LEES. I like the spelling of Marliese much better but from the other posts seems like you wouldnt get the same result :(
I wonder if there are any other ways to spell it that would get the same pronunciation?
Marleese maybe? Or Marlees but that may be Mar- leighs? Idk maybe it would just come with too many problems!

It's mahr-LEES. It's a pretty normal name for me. I don't really care for it though, but it's not bad either. Marliese would be mahr-LEE-sə or maybe a tad softer S, mahr-LEE-zə.
I prefer Marlies from these too. It looks neater and sounds a bit stronger than Marliese.

I'm Dutch and it's pronounced mar-LEASE.
And yes, Marliese would be pronounced mar-LEASE-uh. I slightly prefer it, since Marlies sounds a bit harsh to me and Liese is a cute nickname.

Marlies looks to me like Marlie's and I would want to pronounce it MAR-leez. I don't really like the look or sound of it.
