Talya
What are your thoughts on the name Talya? What do you think of the various spellings? Talya seems to be the original transcription from Hebrew, but Talia seems to be more commonly used (#387 in the US vs. Talya not in top 1000). Another spelling listed on BtN is Tahlia which seems popular in Australia (NSW #77), maybe because of its similarity to Dahlia...? Anyway, which spelling do you prefer? And what do you think of the name?

When I see Talya, my eyes switch it to Tayla. They even just did it in your subject. I like Talia better. Ys are overdone these days anyone.

Dew from God, eh? Odd meaning!I read Talya as Tayla when I'm skimming. Talia would be 'Those kinds of things' in Latin, or 'Such things'. Tahlia looks like TAHleea and Dahlia sounds like DAYleea where I live. On balance, I don't like it whatever the spelling. And I've never encountered one IRL either.

I like it. I've seen Talia and Tahlia more often though. I think Talia is my favorite, but Talya is definitely good. I say them differently though. I say Talia with 3 syllables and Talya with 2.
Unfortunately it looks a lot like Tayla, which is cute but annoyingly trendy, and might get mistaken for that.

I much prefer Talia. Talya just doesn't look 'right', you know? Especially with 'y' being so trendy to add to names now (which kinda makes me surprised that spelling isn't more popular). And Tahlia looks like a mispelled Thalia, which I know is a different name but still. Anyway, Talia looks cleaner and more elegant to me. The name itself feels sophisticated and cultured and strong and even though it's not a favorite of mine I do like it. I think it's not on my favorites list though because it's not a name I hear very often and so I heavily associate it with the villain Talia al Ghul from the Batman comics. I feel kinda bad for my sister though cause she's liked the name for years but she married a Batman fanatic and just balked when she mentioned it lol

I love it! My preferred spelling is Talia, but a lot dislike this spelling, because it reminds them of genitalia.
