Franklin?
I have never been a fan of the name Frank, but lately I have started to really like the sound of Franklin. I think the "lin"-ending makes it a worthy firstname in my opinion. It sound more classy to me than Frank. And I think the assosiation to Franklin the turtle is just adorable. WDYTO the name?

I always think of Franklin the turtle as well. I used to watch the cartoon when I was little.

It's alright. I agree the -lin ending is pleasing, in theory. It's the Frank part that leaves me cold.It reminds me - not intensely, but enough to make me avoid it - of Frankenstein and rankling and 'Frankly I don't give a damn.' The -ank sound in it still feels heavy and ugly.Anyway I think a Franklin would be likely to get called Frank / Frankie, and it would seem stuffy to insist on Franklin.

I agree. I think I just would used it on a character in a story or a sim.

It makes me think of Benjamin Franklin and the kid from Peanuts.

I had a pretty good friend named Franklin. He was funny and personable. However, he was also very geeky/nerdy/dorky, however you want to put it. He suffered from depression and took a cocktail of medications to control it. He could never get a girlfriend because of his nerdiness and was very unhappy about that.Although I really liked Franklin, his less desirable qualities have strongly marked his name for me. I think of it as a nerdy, depressed name. I have tried reminding myself of Franklin Roosevelt, who was neither nerdy nor depressed, but it just doesn't work.Addendum: My friend Franklin finally got married when he was about 40 and he's happy now.
