New Swedish prince!
The son of prince Carl Philip and princess Sofia of Sweden was born last Tuesday and his name is
...Alexander Erik Hubertus Bertil.I like Alexander, but the rhythm of the name is awful. AlexandER ERik HuBERTus BERTil. Ugh.
Erik is an old royal name and it's also Sofia's father's name. Hubertus is one of our king's middle names and Bertil was the name of prince Carl Philip's godfather.Crown Princess Victoria's and Prince Daniel's children:
Princess Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary, born February 23th 2012
Prince Oscar Carl Olof, born March 2nd 2016Prince Carl Philip's and Princess Sofia's child:
Alexander Erik Hubertus Bertil, born April 19th 2016Princess Madeleine's and Mr Chris O'Neill's children:
Princess Leonore Lilian Maria, born February 20th 2014
Prince Nicolas Paul Gustaf, born June 15th 2015Does the sea exist

I think Hubertus is awful. Alexander and Erik are both nice.

I like it, and I don't think the flow is that bad actually. The ER/BER parts are pronounced differently.

Hubertus has an interesting history, but it sounds hideous to me. (I associate it with Humbert Humbert from Lolita and Pubert Addams.)The rest of the names are nice.

Humbert has a different etymology from Hubert/Hubertus. (Humberto, the Portuguese form of Humbert, is pretty common where I live.)

Other than Hubertus the name is gorgeous. It may be an accent thing, but I don't find any problem with the rhythm, the emphasis is on different syllables.

It'd be wonderful if it wasn't for Bertil. Otherwise, a beautiful name. I love Alexander.

The -er Er- doesn't bother me since they aren't pronounced the same, but the -bert- Bert-, ugh. He should have been Alexander Bertil Erik Hubertus.Bertil and Erik were expected (my sister actually guessed he'd be Alexander Erik Bertil!), Hubertus was a surprise, but I really like that they used one of the weirder family names. And now they've used one of the king's names each - Victoria has a Carl, Madeleine has a Gustaf, and Carl Philip has a Hubertus - will someone have a Folke someday? :)

I agree that the flow/rhythm isn't the best in this combo. I'm also a bit surprised that he has four names, since all children of the youngest generation (except Estelle) have only three names.Individually the names are perfect and very expected for Carl Philip and Sofia's son. I knew that they would pick Erik and Bertil for honoring middle names. I wasn't expecting Hubertus and while I usually find it overly pompous, it does suit for a Nordic prince. Alexander is one of my favorites despite its popularity. All in all, the youngest generation of the Bernadotte family has very nice names. Estelle, Oscar, Alexander, Leonore and Nicolas - so very beautiful/handsome!
