Australia
I just met a woman named Australia. She was probably around 80. I've never really thought of it as a name before, but I kind of like it. WDYT? Any MN ideas? I think something classic to go with it, like Australia Beatrice.

I guess if Asia and America can work as names... why not Australia? I'd never use it but I don't think I'd mind meeting someone with this name. Potential nn's... Ozzie, Rae, Lia, Alia... Stella, maybe?

Australia sounds ridiculous as a name.

I had a classmate named Australia when I was in Kindergarten. I made a particularly nasty comment about her name behind her back once. I don't remember if she overheard me or if it was the teacher, but I got in a lot of trouble over it either way.Normally I dismiss "kids will make fun of her name!" comments, but I just can't think that when it comes to Australia...because I totally did make fun of her name (ugh. sorry Australia :().Australia Beatrice is an interesting combo though. I kinda like it.
