I've liked Somerled for a while. Somer is great for a boy.
Not keen on it with Theodora, feels very different to me.

Uhm...hmmm...kinda sounds like "summer-led", which I don't really like the sound of.

If I had to choose, I'd probably go with Somerled Calvin Stewart Arnold. I really love Calvin!

Nah...if his voice was high enough, say, on the phone, and he said his name was "Somer", I think people would assume he's female (Summer), so not a fan.

I adore Somerled! So glad this name is getting some recognition. And I think it goes great with Theodora (which I also love). Saying them together, "Theodora and Somerled," has a really nice ring to it. Somer is so adorable on a boy. "Theo and Somer" or "Thea and Somer" also sounds great.

2. Well enough, I think. It goes without being too perfect/matchy/contrived.
3. Hmmm, off the top of my head, I like Somerled Augustine, Somerled Atticus, Somerled Niall, Somerland Willoughby :).

1. It sounds awkward and pretentious; unpleasantly out-of-place in the modern world. The 'led' syllable is particularly weak.
2. It does not compare to Theodora in terms of style or attractiveness.

Theodora has the pleasant quality of being an uncommon name with which most people are familiar. Somerled is too obscure to share this essential quality.

Not sure, tbh. It's interesting and different, but it's not just an unusual name, but one most people have never heard of at all, so it might feel uncomfortable to bear - he's going to get a lot of mystified responses when he says it, probably more so as it sounds like a phrase. It is extremely unusual even in Scotland - hardly any living bearers.

It's not terrible but everyone is going to assume female and Summer when they hear it, which might not be fun for him.
