I love and would use both. Maybe Theodora slightly more.

DorotheaI don't love Dora though I do love Theodora even if sometimes the dora part bothers me. It is also how I feel about the name Isidora/ Isadora. I love them but the dora part pokes at me sometimes.I prefer Thea as a nn to Theo but I love both nn's. Also Thea can be used as a nn for Theodora even if Theo feels slightly more natural.I think Dottie and Dot are cute nn's for Dorothea and they don't really work for Theodora.Dorothea and Dorothy are also family names for me. My great grandma Ella who I knew well was Ella Frieda and her mother was Maria Dorothea. Dorothy was my husband's grandmother's name.So I guess I am barely much help since I love them both.

TheodoraTheodora sounds more elegant and distinguished. The nick name Thea is cute but will still age well.Dorothea cute in a clunky sort of way, but it still feels a little awkward and dated.

I prefer Dorothea, which I adore. Theodora is also lovely, though I prefer Theodosia.

DorotheaIts so pretty

I prefer Dorothea, though it is inconveniently long. I knew one at school who never had a nn of any kind, which is impressive.I know a Theodora who dislikes her name so intensely that only her father ever uses it. She goes by Theo!

I prefer Theodora. I dislike the Doro- part.

Dorothea. Theodora's cute, but I can't imagine myself using it.

I'm a big fan of -dora names for some reason, although I'm not so keen on Dora oddly enough, so I'd have to go Theodora. I don't dislike Dorothea, I just feel like Theodora is stronger and more substantial in terms of sound.

Dorothea. I much prefer Dot names and Theodora is lovely but has a little extra frumpiness to me that Dorothea seems to side step on it's way to adorable.

Love both. But Dorothea is rarer so it gmv. Nickname Dodie? :0)

Theodora.I've always adored it and how it easily rolls off of the tongue while pronouncing it. It has a beauty over itDorothea is a nice name, however the 'Doro-' part trips me up a little when having to pronounce it along with tacking '-thea' onto it. It makes it a bit of a tongue twister to me.So, Theodora.

I totally get the pronunciation thing, I've had friends tell me something similar!

Theodora sounds fresher to me. I do like both, though.

Dorothea. I'm not fond of the "dora" at the end of Theodora. I wish more people would like/consider Theodosia instead of Theodora.

Lurv Theodosia. :0)

I like Theodosia in theory, I just can't see myself actually using it.
