What are your opinions on Bertram nn Bertie~ Always end the name of your child with a vowel, so that when you yell the name will carry ~

It's a good name, wouldn't use it myself (think it's a bit old fashioned) but it sounds nice

Bertram was my grandfather's name. I kind of like it (it makes me think of collar cardigan sweaters), but the rest of my family hates it. The only time I've heard Bertie used was in a film set in 1970s London (the character was a middle-aged magician called "Bertie dearest"). It's nms.

I actually knew a kid in middle school whose real name was Bertram, but he never went by it (I only discovered it on some sort of printed-out role call). He had everybody call him "Mykki" - I'm guessing his middle name was Michael, or something similar. His older sister, who was in my grade, was named Myriam (no nickname).I wouldn't use the name personally, it reminds me too much of... well, old dudes (like Herbert and Walter). In fact, I don't really like any name with Bert in it.

I like Bertie, but prefer it short for Albert or Robert.

Too posh for me! But I once knew a Bertram, nn Bert, who was so delightful that I quite warmed up to the name. Not Bertie, though. Really, not Bertie.

Bertram is cute in an old fashioned way, but Bertie sounds a little geeky like Bertie Wooster in Jeeves.
