Re: Solomon, Ebenezer & Lazarus
in reply to a message by Joiya
Solomon is fantastic, but I think it would take a certain sort of person to pull it off. It is a strong name to live up to. The people that Solomon suited pulled off the name with a confident and debonair charm. I think the majority of people that I have encountered named Solomon were African-American, but other people could probably use it too.Ebeneezer will forever be tied to Ebeneezer Scrooge. Lazarus reminds me of leprosy and dead people rising from their tombs. I feel bad, but I sort of associate the name with a miserable life plagued by ill health.Similar Names to Solomon:
Moses
Jeremiah
Cornelius
Silas
Titus
Abraham/ Abram Augustine
Richard
Alfred
Constantine
Ptolemy
Akbar
Alauddin
Sun Tzu
Qin Shi Huang
Hannibal (of Carthage)
Skipio
Marcus Aurilius
CyrusSheba/ Candace/ Makeda
Deborah
Vashti
Esther
Rahab (guilty pleasure)
Hatshepsut
Maeve
Theodora
Isabella
Boudicca
Golda
Indira Basically, Solomon makes me think of strong Biblical characters with bold personalities and also of powerful or famous rulers with an aura of almost over the top magnificence.
