Zadie
WDYT of Zadie? It came to mind because it was the name of a chair at World Market, haha. But I like it; I think it has much more spunk than Sadie. I'd almost prefer it as a nickname but I'm not sure for what. Suggestions?

It sounds like whoever uses it is trying too hard. "Sadie? Nah, we're way too edgy for that!"

I makes me think of Zadie Smith.I guess if Sadie is a nn for Sarah/Sara, Zadie could be a nn for Zara.

I really like it. I agree it has a bit more to it than Sadie. I imagine alot of people would think they misheard Sadie or it's a misspelling though

Azalea nn Zadie seems nice, kind of old school derivation. Shahrazad or Alexandra might work too.I don't find it spunky, it just sounds off to me, but I can dig it as a nickname.

I really like the sound of it too. I actually knew a girl called Zadie. Her parents thought she was a boy and planned to use the name Zaiden. When she popped out a girl they just changed it to Zaidena (zay-DEE-na)...not sure about spelling.

Honestly it sounds like the name of a witch.
