WDYTO Araminta?
What do you think of the name Araminta? What is your favorite pronunciation? I know there are at least three of them. Also which pronunciation do you think is the most common?I was reading an article about the college I had went to, a new student who was interviewed was named Araminta. I've heard of the name before but I have never really put much thought into it before now.

I like it. I love that it's Harriet Tubman's real name. I'm not sure I'd use it just because I feel like it's just too big a name for me or my offspring to pull off. Haha. I pronounce it are-a-MINT-ah.

I don't like the "mint" part. I didn't know there were at least three pronunciations. I've never heard it spoken, so I just think of it as "a-re-MINT-a". The first syllable has the same sound as in the word "cat".

I really like it and I also like Aminta. I pronounce it a-ra-MIN-ta and I can't really think of any other ways to pronounce it...?

I love the sound of the name and the nicknames Minnie and Minty, but I probably wouldn't use it myself. It just doesn't have the long, established history I like in a name. I'd love to see it on another person's child, though!

I'd pronounce it Air-a-Minta. Probably most people would but it isn't a name that comes up in common speech so who knows?I don't like it because it sounds like mouthwash or a room spray.

I've only ever heard ah-ra-MIN-ta, with the ah like the a in cat. I'm not a huge fan of the name.

Hi Starstrider !!!!I dislike Araminta.
It is too elaborated and without a particolar meaning.
I much prefer Amaranta.I pronounce Araminta: a-ra-MEEN-ta.But Minta / Minty / Mintha are lovely names!
They all remind me of mint.

I like Araminta. I'd prn. it ARE-uh-MIN-tuh, the ARE as in how we (the States) prn. Ariana.Edit: No, I'd rather prn. it AIR-uh-MIN-tuh.
