I much prefer Violet to Julia, as I find Julia rather dated and boring. That said, Violet doesn't fit particularly well with the other names. Have you considered Juliet instead? It's kind of a blend of the two names then.

I think Julia would go better with her sisters' names. Actually I think I like both VIolet and Julia similarly, but I think Julia would go really really well with Isabel, Liliana and Emilia. ALthough the set with Violet instead of Julia is also nice. And I don't think Liliana and Violet are too matchy and flowery. If it would be Lily and Violet, then, um, a little bit, but Liliana and Violet don't give too flowery impression to me.

Oh my... why would you make me make this decision! I love both names so much. I like Julia more with the set. (-:

VioletObviously I'm a big fan of Julia ;), but it shares too many sounds with Liliana and Emilia.

You have an awesome name! They are similar, but they won’t be living together forever. Also, I’d rather use a name I loved. That’s what I keep telling myself lol. It’s just too hard to let it go. :)

At first, I was tempted to just shout "JULIA!" because it's one of my favorite names, too, but... while you pointed out that Liliana & Violet together would be "flowery," my eyes and ears were drawn to the fact that both Emilia and Julia end in "-lia," and together they appear a little match-y. So on that front, I would actually choose Violet.However... what about Viola (vie-OH-lah)? I think the "floweriness" of Liliana & Viola in the same sibset won't be so obvious (not quite Lily & Violet).

Viola is lovely, but I love the sweetness of Violet.I do think Emilia and Julia are similar. but because my Dh has no problem with it, I put it out of my mind because I love Julia so much. :)

I think Julia definitely fits better... Julia Violet is gorgeous!

I like both. I prefer Julia though.Emilia and Julia and Liliana all have a Lia sound, though. Violet may fit better.I have known more Violet's then Julia's, and the Julia from 1984 is a good character.

I like Julia best, I think it stands up best to the other girls. Just for myself, I'd prefer to be a Julia.

As far as names go, I like Violet better, but yeah, she and Liliana would sound too flowery. Go with Julia. :)

How about a merger: Juliet?

I have thought of it, and like it to some extent. I just prefer plain old Julia. :)

Julia. Yes, Liliana and Violet are too flowery together, but I'm not a fan of Violet anyway.

Violet. though i don't see a problem with it being too flowery with Liliana, it's not like this is a third kid with a flower name (though even that isn't bad to me). and it sounds different enough, while Julia and Liliana share too many of the same sounds.

I think Violet fits the "vibe" of the sibset. Julia, while similar in some sense, still stands out to me a little. I wouldn't worry about having a Liliana and a Violet as sisters. Does Liliana get called Lily a lot? Would you use a nickname for Violet? Vi / Vee etc? I think I'd be more concerned about using EmiLIA and JuLIA in the same sibset. But that's just my opinion :)

Liliana goes by Lily about 50% of the time. She prefers going by Liliana.

I prefer Violet although Juliet instead of Julia would also be nice.I don't feel that Liliana and Violet are too floral, Lily and Violet are a bit floral but even that isn't too floral. If you had daughters named Rose, Lily, Iris, and Violet that would be overly floral. If you use Violet and you have any other children after Violet just don't use any more floral names and you'll be fine.I will say this that Liliana, Emilia, and Julia feel like too much especially Emilia and Julia, they are just too similar. Juliet would be much better since it isn't too similar and it is reminiscent of Violet.

I also think Emilia and Julia are little too close. Dh thinks it’s fine. My love for Julia makes me not care about their closeness. Though deep down it does bother me a little.

It's just a big pet peeve of mine, Emilia and Julia are the exact level of similar as my favorites Dorothea and Althea are and I'd never use both of them. Josephine and Delphina are also too similar. But truthfully even using two first names starting with the same letter mildly grates at me - unless they all start with the same letter - but only mildly so I'd probably be okay with say a sibset of Arthur, Kieran, and Aurora if those were the names we loved the most. When half of the name is the exact same I'd never feel comfortable with that but everyone has different opinions on these sorts of things. I also am going to avoid siblings with overly similar nn's, even borderline similar nn's like Fiona "Fi" and Dorothea "Thea" might be too similar. Rowan and Aurora nn Rory are too similar because of the nn Rory.

I think Julia would be the more timeless choice but I love Violet too. That said, Violet has a different feel to me than your other girls. Sadly, I'm afraid it will be dated before too long. Julia Violet would be a beautiful combo btw!
