Re: Winter
in reply to a message by Olwen
1. I like it. But I'm a big fan of comics and the Winter Soldier is my favourite character so I may be biased because it makes me think of him. I also like the snowy, tranquil vibe it brings to mind. I like it for any gender, but I do think it sometimes works best as a middle name because most of the time I try to pair it with something the flow seems better with it coming second to another name.2. Yeah, probably would be weird for a child born in the middle of summer or something.3. I don't think it's any more annoying than all the other common word names people use -Dawn, Summer, May, Hope, Jade, Phoenix, Lily, Aria, Destiny, Angel, Grant, etc. It's not one that strikes me as really "out there" like Symphony or Treasure or Arrow or Indigo. I have a friend named Snow. It's one of those names that people kind of remark on when they meet her, but it's not so insane that they go on and on about it or make fun of her or whatever. And I feel Winter falls into that same kind of category. 4. I'd like it as my name, sure. This is also one of very few names that I like the "tryndee" spelling for as well because spelling it Wynter reminds me of the name Wyn / Wynn which is cool to me.
