Margarita
What do you think of the name Margarita? It’s the Latin form of Margaret / Pearl. Do you think thenassociation with the drink is too strong, or is it usable? What would you pair it with?*previously posted as summitseeker*

Everyone is mentioning Spanish / Italian, but I associate it with Margarita Levieva so I was thinking of it as Russian. (I also like that she goes by Margot and Margosha as pet form.)Either way, I think it's a super cool name. I don't associate it with the drink personally. I do associate it with daisies since it's the word for "daisy" in a number of languages.Margarita Estelle

It's a bit odd to use if you have no connection to the Spanish-speaking world at all.

I like it! In fact, I’m in the hospital with my new daughter, who are naming Alice, and we are thinking about using the similar name Marguerite for a middle. Drink or no drink, I think margarita is a pretty name.

All I can think of is the drink, so I’d go with Margaret. I prefer the sound of Margaret anyway.

My cousin is named Lisa Margarita. It's her favorite thing about her name and everyone who finds out her middle name loves it.
I think it is very usable.
However, her mother is from Puerto Rico, so she has the Spanish background to pull it off. I think Margarita Vale would be pretty.

I like Margarita. There's nothing wrong with the fact that it also is the name of a drink, IMO.

I love the name Margarita. Much more so than I like Margaret, which is not at all. Margarita is definitely associated with the drink, but so are Sherry and Brandy, and those names in their time were way more popular than Margarita ever was.
If the drink association does bother you, Marguerite is also very pretty. Margarita seems much more likely on a Hispanic or Italian girl, but Marguerite doesn't seem quite so tied to a specific ethnic background.Margarita RaquelMargarita NaomiMargarita LuciaMargarita WhitneyMargarita Roxanne?

It’s a pretty name so it’s a shame, but the association with the drink (and the Jimmy Buffet song) is too much for me.

I'd use Margaret happily (and was glad to see it in your previous posting): I don't think of the drink at all, but Margarita just seems unnecessarily long, as would Elizabetha!
