*sigh* so many German/Germanic names are so lovely when said right, but turn into hags when read in American English. Wall-Burr-Guh. Seriously almost no one would I know like being named that! It seems so ugly. Can't we respell it Valbirka? Please? Then it'd be as awesome as it actually is, and our pronunciation might even be more accurate.- mirfak

Agreed completely. One of my main hobbies is studying languages, so I totally get how to pronounce Walburga the original way. Saying it in American English (wall-burg-a) just really does make it less appealing. If spelling it Valbirka in English will get people to say it right and appreciate its beauty, then I’m all for it.
