Re: Irish names - Local Nursery
Ooh! I'm a quarter Irish, and I LOVE Irish names! From your list, I like all except:Colm - Is this supposed to be an Irish nickname for Malcolm? Doesn't appeal to me; Calum and Callum are much better!
Donal - Even this Irish form of Donald makes me think of that white supremacist who's SUPPOSED to be running our country. I'm going to pray REAL hard he doesn't run again in 2020. smdh
Senan - Reminds me of the words semen and senile. I like Sean and Kenan / Keenan better.Meabh - Well, I do like this one; I just prefer the Maeve spelling.
Saibh - It could be misheard as the word "sad". Like, suppose a Saibh introduced herself to someone who isn't Irish: "Hi, I'm Saibh" and the other person might be like "Oh, I'm sorry" like they thought she said she was sad. lol idk, just a thought.~~~~~PNL:

No, Colm is actually an old and very Irish spelling of the name also known as Callum / Colum etc. My surname is Collum and I’ve learned a bit about this name family. :)
