obscure Greek mythology names
I looked through the Greek Mythology submitted names A-C today, and these are some that stood out to me...Adamanthea - "invincible", the nymph who nursed Zeus; called Ida, Adrasteia, Neda, Aega in other versions
Aethra / Aithre - "bright, purer air; the sky", mother of Theseus
Agrotora - related to "catch, hunt", an epithet of Artemis
Alcathoe - no description, but...this is a type of bat
Alectrona - "rooster" or "amber"; goddess of awakening, the morning
Alexiroe - meaning could possibly be "to defend river, to help flow", she was married to a king of Troy
Ananke - "force, constraint, necessity", the personification of destiny, necessity and fate; she marks the beginning of the cosmos, along with Chronos
Bremusa - "raging woman", an Amazon warrior
Brizo - "to slumber", goddess who protected sailors and interpreted dreams
Caliadne - "beautiful and holy", a naiad, daughter of Neilus
Callianassa - "beauty queen", a Nereid
Callirrhoe - "beautiful flow", a naiad, daughter of Oceanus
Cymopolea - "wave ranging", goddess of giant storm waves
Kleola - "glory people", 1st wife of AtreusAbaris - no meaning given; healer and priest of Apollo
Abderos / Abderus - one says "blessed" but the other description is "possibly means 'man with the whip'"; he supposedly did something heroic
Acheron - "the stream of woe"; a branch of the river Styx
Agron - "field/wild/rustic/dawn", an Illyrian king
Aithion - "to kindle"; dunno how it relates to myth
Alektor - "rooster"; several people in Greek myth
Almus / Almos - "grove", possibly "sacred grove"; a son of Sisyphus
Carystus / Karystos - "to herald, proclaim"; a demi-godI didn't fact check. Free feel to add info or correct mistakes.Wdyt? Any you like or think are interesting/usable?
