In theory, I like it. I like Biblical names. I like El- names. It's fresher than Nathan or Nathanial while having recognizable elements, it's unique and interesting but not modern or trendy. (Which may be fine for some, but not my style particularly.)

In practice, it sounds kind of like something a high school freshman with half a semester of Spanish calls himself trying to sound cool. 'El Nathan.'

The first time I came across this name was way back in my family tree. I think it's useable, but will have issues. I've assumed it's pronounced EL-na-than, more like Jonathan, and not like "El Nathan." But people will think/hear "El Nathan," which is silly. And if it is pronounced "El Nathan," then I'd say it is too silly. Heh

Nathan is too recognizable to be paired with 'El' before it.
I perfectly know the meaning of El- but it seems an article here like 'El Alamein' or 'El Paso'.

It looks interesting. Is it supposed to be pronounced like "EL-na-than" or "el Nathan" or something different?

It could potentially work, but people might think you’re trying to be funny and calling the carrier of the name “el Nathan” if I’m imagining it pronounced correctly.
