Re: Willow or Hazel?
They're both trendy, somewhat cliche nature names, but I consider them grounded and meaningful despite that, so I like them.
Hazel seems more vintage-new, while Willow's more new-fangled. Willow seems softer (willowy, emotive) and Hazel seems harsher (witchy, prickly).
I have an aunt named Hazel who thinks Hazel is the ugliest name ever and has always gone by her MN instead.I'd pick Willow because I think of it for combos sometimes already. I tend to like names that are a bit harsh and weird, and it balances those.
Hazel also sounds repetitive with my last name, so I'd not use it because of that, if I were considering it IRL for myself or a daughter.
