Turquoise
What do you think of it as a girl name? I kinda of like it, it is like Jade but more unique and reminds me of December.Formerly known as PartheniaI’ve always looked for the perfect life to step into. I’ve taken all the paths to get where I wanted. But no matter where I go, I still come home me - Layne Staley

I don't see it crossing over as a personal name. If it had an approachable nn it could work, without that; it's a bit much. What do you think of Emerald?

It is also nice, and so are the stones. I also like Esmeralda.

I don't like it, it's too word-y.

Although the very thought of turquoise holds sentimental value to me as my late mother absolutely cherished the gem stone and color.
(I strongly associated Turquoise with her and always will). However, as a name it's just "too out" there for me. Turquoise to me is one of those names that I would strongly recommend as a being a middle name if it absolutely HAD to me used.

I like it, but only with the French pronunciation (tyr-KWAZ). Since no one would pronounce it correctly where I live, I wouldn’t use it.

It's one of my favorite colors, and a favorite gemstone, but I just can't see it as a name. I have seen it done a couple times, but it just doesn't do it for me.

I love the gemstone, but it’s clunky as a name.

Second. I do like the word, but as a name I don't think it will go.What is it about the name you like? The Tur- prefix or the -quoise suffix?

Mostly the -quoise suffix

Hm unfortunately other than Turquoise, the only other word with that suffix is "Dacquoise"I tried thinking of alternatives but the best I could muster is "Marquoise"... there's "Rejoice" that's similar though I can't think of any decent replacementsSorry!
