It's a bad name. Zeff-en. Middle name: something normal so he can go by that instead.

I almost like it, and I would pronounce it similar to Stefan (ZEH-fahn)Names I believe would go best are ones you might find as surnames;Zephan Alexander
Zephan Blake
Zephan Charles
Zephan James

I was at school with a girl called Zephne, short e, so Zephan seems like it would also be ZEF'n. I find it disconcerting; like a dyslexic attempt at Stephen.

Rather than immediately presuming its derived from derangement of letters, perhaps you might consider such sources as Zephaniah or Zephaniel.

I like the Zeph part, but I prefer Zephyr to Zephan, which I'd pronounce ZEF-ən. Some middle names:
Zephan Alexander
Zephan Amadeus
Zephan Anthony
Zephan Aristotle
Zephan Augustus
Zephan Aurelius
Zephan Brooks
Zephan Charles
Zephan Constantine
Zephan Evander
Zephan Jack
Zephan James
Zephan Mercury
Zephan Seth
Zephan Thaddeus
Zephan Theodore
Zephan Theseus

I love Zephan Alexander and Zephan Thaddeus, and I don’t think there is much difference in our pronunciation (splitting hairs with vowels there, perhaps). Thanks!

I would pronounce it ZEFF-an, so not really like either of your examples. I don't like the name, sorry.
