I love it! I've been thinking about it a lot lately. It's stately but also whimsical. Jemima Eloise is the combo stuck in my head.

I've always found this name pretty ugly tbh.

I really like it. It makes me think of Job's daughter in the Bible but also sounds like someone living during the 1800s. There is an oldfashioned charm about it that is similar to Matilda, Winifred, or Josephine. A couple of other people have mentioned the pancake/ syrup brand, but I don't think it is as popular as it used to be in the US. Either that or it is more regional. I wouldn't automatically think of the brand if I met a baby or little girl named Jemima. If I met an older middle aged, matronly African American woman named Jemima who resembled the Aunt Jemima charcter, then I would think of the pancakes. Otherwise, Jemima Puddleduck is more likely to be an issue.

Puddleducks and pancakes. It's cartoonish.

From the time I was a child, I've always spelled it Jemimah, for some reason - even though Jemimah turns up in very few Baby Name sites and gives me a red squiggly line. Without the H it just looks unfinished.
Yes, it may be unusable in USA, but that still leaves 95% of the world to use this beautiful name.
As you can tell, Jemimah is one of my favourite girl's names.

Jemimah is actually the Biblical spelling for the name :)

It sounds Puritan.

I love it but it's unusable in the US because of Aunt Jemima we've been over this a thousand times yada yada yada. But if I weren't American, I like it enough to consider using it.
