I don’t like it or its cousin Dahlia.

LOVE LOVE LOVE it with the Darya spelling. Also Dahlia..

I think it’s pretty, but too delicate sounding. And it reminds me of diarrhea. :/ Side note: I don’t think it was befitting of the character Daria at all.

Am I really the only one who hears “diarrhea”??? It’s so obvious to me that I actually expected everybody to be saying it! I’m shocked nobody has.

No, you were the 2nd one (of 3)...out of 10, so far.

I don't like it either, it sounds like a dry, shrill scream by someone with a sore throat.

Well I like it, it’s unusual but not weird, it’s got an international vibe, it looks and sounds clean.

It's not the worst by any means, though I much prefer Darius for a boy. How would you pronounce it? In South Africa I'd expect DAH ree uh, but I've never encountered one. Darius, yes, and that sounds like DAH ree uhs here, with the uh = a schwa.

I like it, though I prefer the look of Darya. It seems kinda chill.I also like Dunya, Sonya, Marya, Nadya. It's in that group, to me.The Persian meaning is nice, too.

I don’t like it at all. I like very few girls names that start with a D, but Daria definitely does not fall in the like category.
It sounds too close to diarrhea, for me.

I think it's cool, confident, and a great meaning. But, Im biased as this is coming from someone as a huge fan of the MTV show. However, I wouldn't see naming my child this though. It would be a great middle name. Also people can see diarrhea in Daria, which is unfortunate.
But people can make fun of any name.
