Kathleen, Joan, Beverly
Okay, here are three girl names that were in the top 100 from 1940-1949. WDYT of them? Do you like any? Do you hate any? Would you use any of them in real life? What combos pop into your head when you hear these names? Thanks. I might do boy names, later. Have a lovely day. :) **Starfish and coffee, maple syrup and jam/Butterscotch clouds, a tangerine, and a side order of ham**

BeverlyI don't like Kathleen or Joan I'm not good at combos, but Beverly Mae?Edit: I have to mention that I heavily associate Beverly with The Beverly Hillbillies and that is the selection of images that goes through me head. From the hillbilly stereotyped Clampetts to the over-the-top snobbish attitude of Mrs Drysdale. I like it though, the Clampetts are good people, even if they do eat opossum innards lmao

Kathleen is... interesting. I perceive it as rather dated - from my mom's generation - yet I've known two Kathleens my age (born in the early nineties)! Neither went by Kathleen, though: one was Katie, and the other was KC "Casey". (In the case of Katie, I knew her from second through eighth grade, and only found out on graduation day that her legal name was actually Kathleen.) It's not a bad name by any means - I actually prefer it to Caitlin & Company - but of all the Kat- names, my favorite is still Katarina.Joan is definitely a former super-popular name (as in, every other European girl in the Middle Ages was Joan or her language's variant) that fell by the wayside. Jane is more popular these days, but still not reaching those heights. Joan by itself can be a bit severe, though I'm fond of the nickname Joanie.I love Beverly. I don't care if it's "dated," or if Everly is seen as the more feasible option today (though I do like Everly as well). Beverly is awesome. I like the nickname "Bev" too.

Kathleen is OK. I prefer Katharine or Catherine, but their popularity counts against them and makes Kathleen more of a possibility. Joan is my least favourite out of Jane, Jean and Joan, but it's got a strong medieval vibe that I do enjoy.Beverly looks like a typo to non-Americans. That said, I don't like Beverley and I positively dislike the nn Bev.They all seem to suit 40s and 50s-type mns:
Kathleen Mary
Joan Margaret
Beverly Sandra

I love Kathleen, as a first and middle name. So much prettier than Katherine and a bit more timeless and easier to know how to spell than Kaitlyn.Really hate Joan. It sounds so heavy and sullen.Beverly is better than Joan, but it has a bossy, officious vibe to it. Beverly is that lady at work who never stops talking even when she has run out of new things to say, and she's always trying to get up in everybody's business. (But she is always willing to work overtime for someone else and brings in the best cookies in town.)

I like Kathleen because I only know one and it's a good association (also the person is young).
Kathleen Olivia
Kathleen Rose
Kathleen Jane
Kathleen Elizabeth
(also reminds me of Colleen but obviously not in a a combo) Joan sounds brave and strong to me. The only reason I probably wouldn't use it is because I have so many other names I prefer. I think it works on any age (nn Joanie for the younger ages), so I don't immediately think of boomers :P
Joan Andromeda
Joan Andromache
Joan Antigone
Joan Hypatia
Joan Victoria
Joan Helena
Joan Octavia Beverly is one I don't like. Beverly Crusher is the only reason I don't completely hate it. It's like Britney but older.
Beverly... Hills?
Beverly Joanne
Beverly Kathryn
Beverly Belle
Beverly June
