I like it because, as you say, I don't care for Janet. I think Jennet is a nice, fresh alternative to Jennifer. I personally would give it a spunkier mn than Lynn. What about:

doens't Jennet meana young horse (or some other kind of animal)?
to me it wouldbe kind of like naming a kid (or characer) Foal. but if it's just a character, and you really like the name, go for it.

My initial reaction is: everyone will assume her name is Janet or Jeanette. I'd get tired of correcting people all the time if it were my name. Sorry.
