I'm aware that it's an actual name but I just can't shake the fact that it sounds, at least in my opinion, like a very young child attempting to say 'Elizabeth' (or someone with a really bad lisp) I mean it sounds nice in theory but when I hear it out loud, it just isn't my cup of tea. /:

It's a good name for a Shaker character! I like Elizabeth more tho.

I like it very much: possibly because I was at uni with two Elspeth people, one blonde, one dark, both very attractive and very bright! If Elizabeth wasn't a family name, I'd have considered Elspeth as a mn.

I just watched The Flame Trees of Thika. That made me like the name a little.

It sounds quite cool and adapt to a fantasy character. It makes me think to a courageous warrior. Thank you for signaling it.

I like it, and I adore its potential nickname, Elsie.

I've enjoyed Elspeth ever since the first time I watched Dragonslayer as a kid. It was perfect for the princess in the movie - the name practically drips with medieval fantasy. A real-life Elspeth would likely go by Elle / Ellie this day and age.
