It's a shame that it's a racist joke name because the sounds are actually quite nice. I'm reminded of Hanifa, which I find utterly gorgeous.

I think it's pretty.

It sounds very dated and, as others have mentioned, it is a cliché name for an African American woman of a certain age. The name Ashley on a 90s born white woman who wears ugs, mimics a valley girl accent, misuses literally, and drinks Starbuck's Frappés is an eye roll worthy stereotype. Shaniqua is the African American equivalent.

Ghetto as hell and an unfortunate stereotype name for African Americans.

It's become a racist 90's "joke" name, which is cruel.

Love it.

First time I've seen it, and I don't find it attractive or even authentic-looking.

I really like it. It's lovely.

Don’t care for it. Basically the black girl equivalent of Becky.

Pretty neutral on it

Even though it's not my style, I like it. It looks pretty and sounds graceful and proud at the same time. Use away!

I prefer Sasanqua. It still sounds usable imo tho.

It's extremely dated. Worse, it crossed from being a briefly fashionable Black Name into Offensive Cliché.

Not a fan. I know it’s a real name, but it sounds like a made up name for a joke.
