Maxyne
Variation of Maxine, saw it in the credits of the movie Jack and Jill vs the World. Thoughts?

I don’t like it. I’m not a fan of Maxine and this fancy spelling looks atrocious.

I don't like Maxine, but this just seems crazy.

So ugly it’s astonishing.

This name is tainted to me because of a woman I knew whose childhood taunt was "Maxi-Pad" plus I dislike the NN Max on a female. This is a no go for me on a few fronts.

What did they do to my beloved Maxine? :-(Not everything needs a trendy Y spelling. In fact, most names don't need a trendy Y spelling. Maxine is one of them.

I know that I said I like arbitrary y's in names once, but it doesn't seem to work here.

I would assume that it was pronounced makSAIN rather than makSEEN, because I can't see the point of making that kind of spelling change for purely decorative reasons. What's so decorative about the letter y anyway? But I would also find it ludicrous.

Looks torturedThat spelling encourages me to pronounce the second syllable so that it rhymes with "mine," which is ugly.

I agree. What's wrong with the original spelling (Maxine)?

Same.It does look like the pronunciation would be altered with this spelling.

The x next to the y looks weird, I prefer Maxine and Maxene.
